INTERPRETATION

INTERPRETATION GOALS

1.

Encourage deep looking of the artwork and supply opportunities for visitors to return to observing the artwork.

2.

Present multiple perspectives and allow visitors to impart their own perspectives.

3.

Provide accessible and equitable opportunities, regardless of race, ethnicity, age, ability, sexuality, class, or background.

4.

Break down barriers of entry, about stereotypes, and of preconceived notions.

5.

Support meaning-making of the works of art.

DUBLIN ARTS COUNCIL

Dublin, OH

For the exhibition The Columbus Crossing Borders Project, I designed interpretation tools to create additional entry points and make the art more accessible for visitors.

OTHER INTERPRETATION

MASS MoCA

North Adams, MA

As a Museum Educator at MASS MoCA, I had opportunities to create non-educator facilitated interpretation for visitors. For example, I designed self-guided tours for the MASS MoCA website and developed in-gallery activities on the annual Free Day.

TANG MUSEUM

Saratoga Springs, NY

As an Education Assistant at the Tang Museum, I created viewer guides to complement the exhibitions for children, families, or any visitors in the galleries.
